Pufa's Sorrow

The Spider freed Pufa, even though he didn't feel like doing it. But when he thought Kitty could destroy his web, he gave in.
The Friends have just sat down under a green oak, when Pufa said, 'I feel sorry for the Spider'.
'What do you mean you feel sorry', exclaimed Fufa. 'He wanted to eat you, didn't he?'
'He is very lonely. Everybody is afraid of him and runs away from him. He doesn't have any friends, and you know that it is hard living without friends.'
'But if we try to make friends with him, he may do us harm' thought Fifi aloud.
'Likewise we thought of the Anteater?', Pufa interrupted her.
'You're right', nodded Kitty. 'We must think how to make friends with the Spider.'

The Promise of the Friends

It turned out that the found bird was a lapwing whose name is Maja. Maja got lost when her flock flew off to warm countries. In fright, she looked for her family and friends in the whole neighbourhood until she realized that she had to manage on her own that winter.

A Frozen Bird

'Fifi, open!' somebody knocked firmly at the door. 'Quickly!'
'I'm coming!' called Fifi and rose from the armchair. 'What's happened?' she asked when she saw frightened Pufa and Fufa, who held something wrapped in a fluffy scarf.
'It seems to have frozen to death!' cried Fufa.

New Year

The long-awaited New Year's Eve has come. As every year, our friends organized a big competition. The one who most quickly will guess which of the friends was hiding under the demonstrated disguise, should become a winner. And when it already seemed that the victory would fall to Maurice, he was unexpectedly outstripped by the Lady Bird. It appeared that she faster recognized Agatha, who disguised herself as a ballet dancer, as well as the Anteater, who pretended to be a dinosaur. There was no end to games and fun, and nobody even noticed that the oldest owl sat down on the Christmas tree by which all habitants of the forest met on New Year's Eve. As every year, she spoke in a loud voice giving everybody her best New Year's wishes. Right after, she announced that the beginning year was going to be a year of goodness and kindness.

'Bravo!' exclaimed Fifi's Father.

Christmas with Friends

Fifi's joy had no end, when she saw her birthday present. These were couloured Christmas baubles put neatly in the box. On each one, there was a face of a friend. And thus the bauble with Pufa was red, the one with Fufa was golden, with Maurice - blue, with Kitty - green, with the Ladybird - pink, with the Anteater - orange, and with the Woodlouse Agatha - yellow.
'Hurrah!' exclaimed the happy Fifi. 'What a beautiful present!'

Finally, Christmas Eve morning came. Fifi and Agatha got up as soon as dawn broke. On the table, they put all kind of decorations they had prepared in December. There were chains, lights, apples, gingerbread and baubles - this year the most important from all kind of decoration. As soon as the scented Christmas tree was placed in the living room, Fifi and Agatha got down to work.
'How beautiful', sighed Mum, when she entered the room for a while.
'It will be the most beautiful Christmas', said Dad and put a white cloth on the table.

Fifi's Birthday

Right through the morning, Fifi has been very excited. 15th November is in the whole Ant family a big holiday. Fifi celebrates her birthday! This year, for her birthday cake, she has invited also Pufa, Fufa, Maurice, Kitty, the Ladybird and ? attention: the Anteater! Naturally, the Woodlouse is going to be there too. Fifi's parents let the Woodlouse stay in the anthill until spring.
'Really?' cried the Woodlouse for joy and hopped on four pairs of her legs.
'Really', nodded Fifi.
When the cake was ready, and the scent of hot chocolate floated in the house, Fifi heard somebody knocking at the door. She ran out and? a large box wrapped in red paper with a golden bow laid in front of the door. It was so big that neither Fifi nor the Woodlouse could lift it up. Luckily, Fifi's parents came with help.

Rodzice Fifi pozwolili stonodze zamieszkać w ich mrówczym mieszkaniu aż do samej wiosny.
- Naprawdę?! - krzyczała ze szczęścia stonoga podskakując na czterech parach nóg.
- Naprawdę - przytakiwała Fifi.
Kiedy tort był już gotowy, a zapach gorącej czekolady roznosił się po domu, Fifi usłyszała pukanie do drzwi. Wybiegła natychmiast i? Wielkie pudełko zawinięte w czerwony papier ze złotą kokardą stało przed drzwiami. Było tak duże, że ani Fifi, ani stonoga nie mogły go podnieść. Dobrze, że na pomoc przybiegli rodzice.
